I grew up singing hymns in church. I've found their words to be rich in the deep theology of God's power, love, grace, and mercy. When I set out to record "Run Through My Heart, I had 5 original songs I wanted to cover, and fill out the rest with hymns I had not previously heard. Setting a parameter of those preferably written before the 1800's I looked for lyrics that were focused on the simple message of the gospel. All hymns, save the opener, The Old Rugged Cross contain essentially the original lyrics, altered where only necessary, but re-written music. The recording is not live, per-se, but is simply guitar and voice into the microphone. Thanks for listening!
